Our Teachers

All of our teachers are passionate about music—and more importantly about supporting your child's musical journey.

During their classes, they create a fun, informal, musically rich social setting that supports the varied learning styles of both children and adults.

All of our teachers have successfully completed the live Music Together® Teacher Training, which is built on research in early childhood and music development. Many of our teachers have also completed the live Canta y Baila Conmigo® Teacher Training developed by Maddie Welch, creator of Canta y Baila Conmigo. We keep our skills fresh through workshops every semester and advanced trainings offered by Music Together Worldwide and Canta y Baila Conmigo LLC.

Born and raised in Miami, Michelle has been performing since she was very young. In high school, she studied musical theater through PAVAC (now known as The New World School of the Arts). In the last twelve years, Michelle has been a member of a local band called “Apples & Oranges" performing around the Miami area, as well as acting in local commercials and movies.

When Michelle is not singing or acting, she works as an ACSM Health and Fitness Specialist and Personal Trainer. After having her children, she realized the need for moms to find time to work out. And so, she developed Fitness4Families a fitness program which provides classes catering to moms with their children. Ready to share her lifelong love of music, Michelle has become a licensed Music Together teacher and is excited to be teaching with Miami Kids Music!

photo Laurie Luczak
Laurie Luczak was born and raised in Buffalo, New York. She grew up with a strong love of the arts that included dance, music and the visual arts. Her mother played the piano and passed this gift on to her and her siblings.
Laurie also enjoyed playing clarinet and was awarded a seat in the area's all county band for consecutive years through middle school .
In college Laurie decided to focus on her love of the visual arts. In 1993 she received a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Illustration from The State University of New York at Buffalo. She then went on to receive a Master of Fine Arts in Illustration from The School of Visual Arts in New York City in 1995. She remained in New York working as an editorial illustrator for just under 20 years. While in New York she also worked for a world renowned picture framing company. Her most special projects included framing a self portrait by Rembrandt and working directly with former Secretary of State Madeleine Albright to frame her official Department of State portrait.
After giving birth to her son Silas in 2013, Laurie decided that a slower pace was in order. Deciding to change her focus to motherhood she and her husband moved to Houston, Texas, where she was introduced to Music Together. She started taking classes with Silas when he was 7 months old and continues to take classes with him today. She has enjoyed the gifts that Music Together has brought to motherhood in the incredible way it has shown her how to share music with Silas. She has cherished this special time with him and has had the privilege of witnessing his musical development grow and evolve.
Music Together has also helped Laurie rediscover her own musicality. After a move to Miami in 2015 she decided to train and become a registered Music Together teacher.
Laurie continues to enjoy music with her husband Mark and Silas by going to see as much live local music as possible. Whether it be classical, jazz or traditional Irish music they love sharing the gift of music together.
Miami Kids Music is thrilled to have Laurie as part our family!

In class and at home, the real teachers are the parents and caregivers! Children are biologically wired to respond best to the model of the people with whom they have a bond of attachment.
